I first went to Dr. Pethe's office almost 10 years back on recommendation of my mom while visiting to my home in Mumbai. Right in the very first visit, Dr Pethe showed me my cavity - ugh -- with a small video camera (along with an instant x-ray)and explained in great detail why my tooth was giving me so much pain and explained the entire treatment plan of how she would fix it. I was quite impressed by the innovative use of technology, since seeing is believing. Another thing that struck me that the clinic was very clean and the instruments were sealed in a plastic bag and were nicely stored in an autoclave. Some of this technology has been pretty common plance in the US, but it was a pleasure to see such an advanced clinic back home. I have gotton at least 6 different teeth treated at the clinic - from simple filling to a couple of fairly tricky root canals. The results have always been the very best. Over last few years her clinic has grown and now multiple doctors work with Dr Pethe in the clinic. I have found all of her associates to be quite first rate, so the fact that someone other that the main doctor may work on you has never bothered me personally. Additionally, Dr Pethe always watches over all the work and has her complete attention to the patient even when an associate doctors is working. She always does the more trickier parts of the procedure herself. Needless to say, i have not visited a dental clinic in the US for all these years. Who wants to pay 10 times for the exact same treatment, plus deal with all the insurance paperwork? Not me for sure.
